Dr Suminda is qualified as a medical practitioner in 2001 (Sri Lanka). He has worked for over fifteen years as a general practitioner in Sri Lanka before moving to Australia in 2018.

Besides being a general practitioner, he also has experience in general medicine, general surgery, paediatric surgery, obstetric, gynaecology and neonatology, and anaesthesiology in Sri Lanka.

Moreover, Dr Suminda has worked as a general surgical medical officer at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore.

Dr Suminda Wanigasekara has been an integral part of the team at Top End Medical Centre, Stuart Park, since May 2018.

His special interests are in general practice, general surgery, and emergency.
